January Favourites.

Another month has gone by and I've got another round of favourites to tell you about. I've really enjoyed penning my favourites in these posts as it's great to be able to look back and get a snapshot of the months that have passed.

Puppy Love. This month my Mum decided it was time to get a new puppy. She chose another Chihuahua, as you can see in the picture she is a little dot. Her name is Peggy and she is a little sweetie. All she wants to do is snuggle up and sleep or bite your finger, there's no in between!

Trying Thai. Myself and Matt tried Thai for the first time this month in Dublin and it was delicious. So many great flavours, I can't wait to have more now that we're back in Teesside.

Breaking TV. This month we've exhausted our Sky planner and have literally nothing to watch. So rather than watching rubbish, we decided to download Prison Break and start a new obsession. We're only just into season one but we're really enjoying it. It's edge of your seat stuff.

The Emerald Isle. We took a trip to Dublin this month. It was only a weekend away but it was nice to go there and do some exploring. We ate some lovely food and definitely got our steps in wandering the beautiful city.

Snazzy Sneakers. Before I went to Dublin I decided it was time for a new pair of trainers for all the walking we'd be doing. I was really after something with a bit of colour that wasn't too outrageous like my multicoloured Nike Rosche trainers. These really stood out to me as I loved the colouring. They are a Nike Free Distance Running Shoe and although quite expensive, I know I'll get my wear out of them as they are so comfy!

The Biebs. Well, who wouldn't put Justin on their favourites this month? I finally decided it was time to download some of his songs and I've not stopped listening to them!

Grease Lightning. I had a need to buy something new for an engagement party we attended this month and for some reason, I was really after a jumpsuit. I'm not one to wear anything tight but I thought I'd be able to find something strapless that didn't show off my stomach and I did just that. This jumpsuit from Miss Selfridge has a bandeau top with waist pleat detailing at the front which covers any lumps and bumps you may have. I'm absolutely in love with it and feel like Sandy from Grease when I'm wearing it!

Murder Mystery. I had seen a lot of people this month talking about a new series on BBC called 'And Then There Were None'. It intrigued me so we downloaded it. It is an Agatha Christie novel that has been made into a three-part series and its brilliant. Based in the 1940s, ten strangers get invited to an island and then the mystery begins. Although it's a 'period drama' I definitely recommend it to anyone regardless of if they think they like this genre or not.

Into the Blue. Lastly, I've been loving my new bedding. How cute is it? I've been after some new bedding for a while and when I saw this in BHS I knew I had to snap it up. I'm always after cute blue and white bedding so if you know of any please send me links!

December Favourites.

Well, let me start by wishing you all a very Happy New Year. I hope that 2016 brings everything you want and that you achieve all that you set out to do. Now back to the main reason we are here, to talk about what I've loved in December.

Sweet tooth. You can't survive the festive period without a million gazillion sweets and chocolate. Let me tell you, I consumed so much I think you'll have to roll me to work on Monday. Like everyone though, I'm now back on the bandwagon and looking forward to a healthy 2016.

A perfect dish. Oh my. Just how nice are roasts though. This month I've had way too many, including the special Christmas day dinner. They were all delicious especially when I covered them in mint sauce. My fave.

All homemade. This year I've really started getting into crafting and tried to make some people's Christmas presents. I personalised some mugs, created a woollen wreath and made some yummy chocolate truffles. I think people really appreciated their homemade presents.

All that glitters. When Anna Saccone-Joly announced that she would be releasing her own line of jewellery I knew that I'd have to get one. I've been on the lookout for a coin necklace for a while now and I thought this would be perfect. I got this for Christmas and I'm in love. It's so sleek, great quality and very cute.

Seeing ma peeps. I love that at Christmas time you make a special effort to see everyone before the big man arrives. Whether this is over a quick cuppa, a delicious meal or five bottles of prosecco, I always have a great time catching up and swapping presents.

Now on TV. Homeland is something we've been catching up on recently. We had the last season recorded and over this festive period we've finally had time to binge-watch it and it's brilliant. I'd go as far as saying it's one of my favourite seasons.

Stomping around town. I asked for some white Converse trainers a while back off Mum for Christmas. When the day rolled around I was pleasantly surprised to open them up. I haven't taken them off my feet yet. Every outing we've been on I've had them on!

Soup for the soul. I like to try and use up what I've got in the cupboard when I'm cooking. Recently I found some red lentils that were soon to go out of date so I found this recipe on Pinterest for carrot and red lentil soup. It was very tasty!

Snazzy new laptop. My old laptop had started to tell me that it needed a new battery. I'd had my Dell for years and years so I thought maybe it was time for a change. I've been saving for quite a while so decided it was now time to get a Macbook. I couldn't be more pleased with it. It's super-fast, super clean and just all-round cool!

November Favourites.

In November the weather started to get colder and everyone started to get excited for Christmas. I am one of those who will not put Christmas decorations up until December, therefore I'm excited for December so I can start to get into the festive spirit. Before we go on about Christmas I want to review my November Favourites.

Excellent scary TV. American Horror Story is back and this season is so good. I've always been a fan of American Horror Story but I didn't watch the last season as it got a bit too weird for me but also Freak Show started to bore me. The new season, Hotel, is my most favourite to date so far, its got glamour, murder, vampires and creepy characters.

New favourite band. Now that the Jonas Brothers are done, Joe Jonas has started up a new venture in the form of a band called DNCE. Now if you weren't a fan of JB that doesn't matter, DNCE's music is dancey, fun and energetic. You are sure to love it. I know I do!

Cosying on up. On a cold, wet, winters day in York, I needed to invest in some more layers and this scarf fell into my basket. This scarf is very cosy as it's so big and soft.

Living with 14 other people. This month we went and stayed in a massive house in Lincoln for the weekend for our friend's 30th birthday. Although I was dubious at first about how the weekend would go, it turned out to be so much fun. There was enough room to fit 20 people, a massive dining room, lounge, garden as well as a swimming pool, jacuzzi and games room. It was a brilliant weekend filled with food, booze and lots of laughs!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM. I've always been a lover of Ben and Jerry's so when I found that they had released some new flavours including pumpkin cheesecake and cinnamon bun I had to get my hands on them. They were both amazing.

Fighting crime with style. Another TV programme that I've really been getting into is Rizzoli and Isles. If you haven't seen it, its about Detective Rizzoli solving crimes with the help of Medical Examiner, Dr Isles. It's a brilliant girl power programme, great for people who love a good crime show.

Warming up with a good broth. My all-time favourite broth recipe has come out of the cupboard for yet another Winter. Savoy cabbage, chorizo and borlotti bean broth is so easy to make and has so much flavour.

Stuffing lots of food in my face. It's always the case at the cinema that you want all the food available and yet you do not want to pay the extortionate prices for it. In the Odeon at the Metro Centre, they have the Gallery seating where you get to go to special lounge first and gorge on as many nachos, quality street, popcorn and soft drinks as you want. You can then take what you want into the screen and come out for more during the movie. I always get my money's worth and make sure I visit on an empty stomach.

Putting heart and soul into my craft. Recently I've been getting into crafting. It started with my moving in keepsake idea then I moved onto Halloween crafts and now Christmas ones! I will be posting a few over Blogmas starting tomorrow.

Why I can't wait for Autumn

This year Autumn can't come quick enough. There is something about this Summer that has not been appealing to us Brits at all! I think we didn't really get a Summer, so it's about time we just got right into Autumn, okay Mother Nature? Bring it.

I hope that you are excited for Autumn too. I've started a Pinterest board filled with beautiful autumn images, cosy interiors and cute craft projects. Although we are only just into September and the leaves have not even started to fall from the trees, I can't wait to wrap up and welcome in Autumn. Here's why...

1. The colours. Autumn brings some amazing colours that I'm in love with including burnt oranges, deep maroon reds and dirty mustard yellows. From the fallen leaves to the clothes in high street shops, the beautiful Autumn colours are everywhere. This year I want to invest in some pieces in these colours and maybe a staple pair of brown boots!

2. Cosy nights in. No more will we think about going out on a night, the place to be will be in the comfort of our own homes. Investing in blankets, candles and good movies will be essential as we start to snuggle up on the sofa rather than braving the cold. I'll definitely have to go shopping for some real Autumn scented candles. I'm thinking cinnamon, woody hints and smokey scents.

3. New flavours. Bring back the hot chocolate, cinnamon, gingerbread and of course, pumpkin. Okay so these aren't new flavours but they get a bit forgotten during Spring/Summer. Now we can indulge in barista hot chocolate, oh and a little bit of salted caramel syrup? As well as this Autumn brings a lot of oranges; bigging up pumpkins, butternut squash and sweet potatoes at every meal!

4. Halloween. I love Halloween. It's time to be a big kid, decorate the house and dress up. I'm hoping to do something this year but even if I don't and I'm just handing out sweets I'm going to go big with my decorations. Matt doesn't know yet but there could be a skeleton or two hanging outside the house on the big night.

5. Comfort food. When the weather gets cold all anyone wants to do is eat all the carbs. It's understandable, we are starting to stock up for Winter. I'll be looking to beef casseroles, warming broths, soups and roast dinners. Of course, I'll still try and keep it healthy but I think diets change by the season and I'll definitely be adapting mine to Autumn.
