Wray's Barn at Whinstone View - Launch Event

Whinstone View is a little retreat from the busy 9-5 lifestyle. Nestled away amongst the trees near Great Ayton this place boasts a bistro, spa, 6 luxury wooden lodges and now a barn for events. I've visited Whinstone a couple of times before blogging about the lodges and the bistro. Recently I went along to the opening event of Wray's Barn with Tracey of Fantastic Fun Fashion to see what all the hard work had produced.

Wray's Barn has been built to hold special events including weddings and it definitely looks the part. Outside is clad in wood panels with wood beams inside making this feel like a sturdy barn. The interior is painted white which gives it a fresh, light and airy feel which is complimented by the large windows with views over the grass field in the front.

The event was a gathering of friends and relatives of the Wray family who've owned Whinstone View for many years. They gave their thanks to the people involved in the build whilst also telling the history of the land. They had kitted the venue out with lots of gorgeous looking flowers from Flower Maiden based in Guisborough which highlighted the many ways flowers could be used to decorate the space.

As well as this they treated us to cocktails and hor d'oeuvres which were yummy! The cocktail especially, I have no idea what it was but it was quite strong and very tasty.

Overall it was a lovely a night in a gorgeous venue that I would be happy to return to...if I was invited. Anyone getting married in Wray's Barn and need a blogger to attend? I'll happily come along!
