Nail Art Weekly Project - Week 5

This is the last Nail Art Weekly Project! It's been so much fun creating themed manicures and seeing what everyone else has created. I can't believe it has gone by so quickly! I'm so pleased with the amount of people that have really committed to the project as they've all made it such a success and hopefully they've been inspired!

The last theme is Glitz and Glam! The sparklier the better! As I'd just bought Hey Baby from OPI's Gwen Stefani collection I wanted to incorporate this.

I underestimate how long manicures like this will take me but in the end I'm really pleased with the results. I may as well use the time while I'm young and free to do my nails! I used OPI - It's Frosty Outside for my pointing finger, Orly - Miss Conduct for my middle finger, and then OPI - Hey Baby for the others.

What do you think? Are these glitz and glam enough?

Nail Art Weekly Project - Week 4

Week 4 of the Nail Art Weekly Project already! Where have the weeks gone? This week's theme is the month you were born. As I was born in August I was going to try and do a summer theme manicure with lots of cute nail art but again I was super busy and had no patience. So I have followed suit of what a lot of the other girlies are doing and based my manicure on my birthstone, peridot.

In essence all I've done is found all the green polishes I have and stuck them in one manicure! I know that peridot is more of a yellowy green colour but I don't have anything like that so have gone with a light and dark green with some glitters.

It is the last week of the project next week so I hope you've enjoyed everyone's manicures!

Manicure Monday - Purple Xing

On Saturday I had a girly night round a friend’s house and I said I’d do her nails for her. She decided that she wanted purple so I brought a few colours round for her to choose from. Whist there I decided I’d paint my own and had brought this gorgeous Nina Ultra Pro polish in Purple Xing.

This is a shimmery deep purple with heaps of holographic glitter running through. It feels slightly textured because of the glitter but it doesn't affect the finish. This polish is gorgeous and I am so glad I picked it up.

Manicure Monday - Gorgeous Gradient

I think I've fallen in love with this combination. I keep looking at my nails because the base polish with the glitter works so well and they look so glamorous!

For my manicure I've used OPI - Every Month is Oktoberfest, China Glaze - Champagne Kisses and Avon Color Trend - Gold Flecked. To create this manicure I used two coats of Every Month is Oktoberfest which I have fallen in love with. It is a dark sheer red/purple colour which looks so deep and shimmery.

When this is dry I applied a blob of Champagne Kisses at the bottom of the nail then wiped the brush on the bottle to be able to drag the glitter up the nail. Over this glitter I used Gold Flecked to add larger pieces of glitter.

I'm really impressed with my first glitter gradient attempt as the colours work so well together.

Mariah Carey for OPI - Christmas Collection Polish - It's Frosty Outside

Following on from my first Mariah Carey Christmas polish swatch I have recently tried out the other I bought which is called 'It's Frosty Outside'.

This polish is like a glitter ball all over my fingers. The silver grainy polish coupled with the little glitter pieces make this polish so amazing to look at. For a Christmas manicure this would be amazing. I can't get enough of it and it seems to have stayed on much longer than the other Mariah Carey polish 'Kiss Me at Midnight' did.

Manicure Monday - Belle

Previously I took part in nail mail swaps with people from America and it was really good as I would get the chance to receive polishes I couldn't get in the UK. I've always been a lover of indie nail polishes so I asked if my nail mail buddy could get me some The Hungry Asian nail polishes. She bought me three mini polishes including the one I am wearing today!

If you haven't heard of The Hungry Asian, it's an indie nail polish brand owned by a lady called Kae based in the USA. She has the most amazing selection of hand mixed glitter nail polishes at quite reasonable prices.

To ensure I got the full effect of The Hungry Asian polish, Belle, I used OPI - Alpine Snow, as a base of two coats and then applied two coats of Belle on top. I then applied Seche Vite on top to make sure this manicure stayed on for a few days!

Belle is such a sweet polish, I really love how it looks on my nails. The polish is in a small bottle but it is still easy to work with, the formula is lovely to use. I can't wait to invest in some more The Hungry Asian polishes. I may have to get the boyfriend to buy me a few for Christmas.

Bright blue and sparkly.

Today I've decided to bring you pictures of my beautiful manicure. I've decided to bling up my nails with some serious glitter and a lovely blue base coat. I have to say this is one of my new favourite blues!

Here I have used OPI - When Monkeys Fly and KIKO (69 is the number on the bottom).

Do you like this manicure? Is it too much? Would you wear these two together?

My Private Jet

Before jetting off to Florence, I had to create my holiday manicure. Usually, I like to have something bright or some nail art to catch people's eyes but for this holiday I wanted something more classic.

I chose OPI - My Private Jet.

This is a colour I've had for about a year now and haven't worn much. It's a beautiful black/dark brown polish with lots of specs of holographic glitter throughout. It's a bit like having simple galaxy nails without the effort.

I believe My Private Jet is part of OPI's base range so where ever there is a full OPI rack (Debenhams/Fenwick) this should be there.
